The Flings may have officially formed in 2019, but the story behind the band goes back much further.

The roots of the current lineup can be traced back to 2008, when Joe and Jake first played together in The Alternatives. Following several musical projects, including the popular local band Puls3, Joe, Jake, Liam and Pete spent years performing together and building a reputation for not only delivering great live music, but also creating unforgettable nights of entertainment. Known for their energy, audience interaction and fun-loving stage presence, Puls3 became a favourite with local crowds before coming to an end in 2018.

The Flings began life as a one-off ceilidh band called The Highland Flings in 2019. After an overwhelmingly positive response and a flood of enquiries, the band evolved into The Flings and expanded its repertoire to include party favourites from every era. When the opportunity arose in 2022, Jake reunited with Joe, Liam and Pete, bringing together the experience, chemistry and entertainment value that audiences had enjoyed for years.

Today, The Flings are more than just a covers band. Combining exceptional musicianship with plenty of on-stage banter, audience participation and infectious energy, they pride themselves on creating memorable experiences wherever they perform. With a setlist spanning rock, Britpop, indie, pop and party classics from the 60s right through to today’s chart hits, The Flings keep audiences dancing, singing and smiling from the first song to the last.
